Ashland, Oregon. Lithia Park. While wondering in the Japanese Gardens I came across this handsome surprise. This young buck was sitting right in the middle of my path. He was evidently enjoying the Japanese gardens, which can easily be found on the right side of the park just beyond the newly restored fountain. We stopped briefly to gaze upon this welcome surprise and then quickly proceeded up the path where we heard a dozen noisy wild turkeys were foraging for their midday snack.

The gentile walk through Lithia park takes you on a winding and diverse set of paths that always hold delight and surprise.

You can find the park just past the main downtown plaza and behind the Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s main stage.
