I can’t believe I’m giving this detour away, but hey since you joined the page you deserve some insights. I’m going to let you in on my little Halloween small town secret- DO ASHLAND.
Ashland is a small southern Oregon town known for the Shakespearean festival, it’s restaurants, parks, a college that re-named itself a university and HALLOWEEN. I mean BIG TIME! When you mix actors, college students, great Fall weather, a love of drama and main street made for a parade you have the perfect mix for Halloween extravaganza. Every year this small town shuts down it’s main street and the entire town and ‘festival folk’ dress up and parade down main street. It’s midday it’s family and pet friendly and it’s a blast! If you want to stay and participate in Adult Halloween, don’t worry the walkable downtown stays open late with slightly more tipsy and crazy costumed folks making their way through the many pubs, restaurants and bars. Stay up until midnight and catch a live version (every year limited to Halloween) of the Rocky Horror picture show at the CABARET. And …. I’m going to do this… Stay at the ASHLAND SPRINGS HOTEL. It’s located on main street, below the Cabaret. It’s a slice of peace and heaven. You can be in the heart of the city and find a minute of peace. As well the hotel allows you to use the spa next door and has an amazing, gourmet restaurant attached. In the morning you can even have coffee on the balcony and watch the sun rise over mountains. I’ve already booked next year, so it’s safe that my rooms won’t be taken by sharing this secret. Meet you there.
