Portland’s Pod Food Culture.
Food Cartopia. However you want to describe it “Detour there”. There are over 500 food carts throughout the city.
The first food cart started as a kosher hot dog stand in 1965 and due to low regulation and affordable cost they have grown in number and popularity.
These communities assembled together in what is referred to as food pods and are located throughout the city. My favorite is the potato cart with it’s cozy roaring fire just at the corner of Ladd and Hawthorne.
Whatever your taste each of these communities offers their own “flavor” and “art” of the city. Not only will you enjoy the food, you will love the local art. Each park is unique.
