Crazytown Travel.. It’s time I share those little situations I run into along the way. It’s time you see what I am forced to see on the road. So many times I am stopped unexpectedly and I just can’t turn away. Like for instance yesterday…
#Extreme ALOHA
In Hawaii they have Aloha. It’s just the spirit of the island. The groove you get into here. Chill, slow. You can’t miss it because everyone wishes it to you, you see signs, you feel the vibe. Yesterday I experienced the Aloha and the Anti-Aloha displayed together. I couldn’t turn away.
My friend Jerry Porter is celebrating a bday (shhh we don’t say ages here). He and his friend Bob jailbroke me from a conference I was attending. We had a lovely picnic on the beach and I jumped up and down like a tourist when I saw a huge tortoise (not cool but that’s another story). Afterward went in search of a “detour” to the BLOW HOLE that is NOT as the sign says “a WATERPARK” and can suck you in and kill you should you treat this like what it’s NOT. On the way to the non waterpark we saw a riveting scene. A man who we think may have lived behind the park was riding his bike when suddenly he stopped, picked up his bike and then began beating the S*^t out of it. Literally picking it up over his head an throwing it into the ground repeatedly over and over and over until it was destroyed. The thing that made you NOT look away was that he was doing this DIRECTLY in FRONT of an ALOHA sign that had been spray painted on the back of an overturned discarded couch. No. literally! IN FRONT OF AN ALOHA SIGN. The paradox of it all was mesmerizing. So much so that I couldn’t seem to get to my handbag, throw Jerry my phone in the front seat and shout “get that shot”! Jerry and Bob later took me to the scene of the crime where the murdered bike still lay and took this for posterity. Thanks guys…

Jerry one was for you!
